Tried to post this before bed last night but couldn’t get into LJ.
Flyboy, day 1.
943 words.
Not all new words. I had two beginnings in two different notebooks so I was merging them as I typed them into the computer. Much of the airplane research has left my brain so I have had to leave lots of spaces with notes (describe this) (needs more details) (etc)
But it is a start. A chapter. I don’t think I have a voice yet but I have questions.
12/15 is the deadline to get this into for critiques at our local conference. I haven’t signed up for a critique there in oh, 10 years. I’m hoping it will be the prod to keep me moving on.
We’ll see.
Good for you, Susan! I know work must be hard under the circumstances. Glad the prod is prodding, even if it doesn’t get you exactly where you want to go — sounds like it’s getting you somewhere.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Jeannine. I think it is just that I am so so so out of practice. It’s been nearly 2 years since I was really writing. Maybe more. I can feel every rusty movement. But I am grateful for the process.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
This deadline is working magic! Go, go!
We’ll see. I just reread what I wrote last night and it doesn’t stink as much as I thought at first. Still not great but I might make the deadline….I only need 20 pages and the dreaded synopsis.
I tried to post last night and couldn’t do it either. I thought it was my Apple Curse again, but I guess it wasn’t!
Well just don’t passing your Apple Curse on to me!
