MJ Rose is always a must-read blog for book publicity education but today is a must-read post anyone who is ever thinking about how to get their books into the hands of bloggers.
Sigh. First canned queries to agents and editors and now this.

That’s just amazing.
Thanks for sharing it.
Isn’t it, just? People are always looking for a short cut instead of just doing the work.
SIGH SIGH SIGH!
Wow – thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the MJ update. Love her blog but half the time forget to check it out. The woman’s an inspiration in 2 many ways to count and you can’t ignore the success she had with LIPSERVICE, doing her thang on her own.
Isn’t she amazing? I love her. There’s an RSS feed you can get to add her to your friends page. Check out the feeds on my profile page. I had to do that because I kept missing things too.
Unbelievable. I particularly like the “what you get out of it”: to work for us promoting a book with whatever we tell you, and a free (albeit unidentified) book “that you’ll enjoy”. Dude, the book they’re trying to promote isn’t something the reader would like — you clearly don’t have your finger on the pulse of bloghood here. Ack and double ack.
I know…it boggles the mind, doesn’t it? And it makes it that much harder the rest of us.
Thanks for that Moment of Zen: I cracked up!
Me too. Sometimes I find it hard to believe people can believe that stuff works. But it’s like all the get-rich-quick schemes people fall for, the people who thought of only need a few people to fall for it.
Groaning — I’m just groaning and shaking my head.
