Today Lynn Hazen and I spoke to the East Bay region of SCBWI on Social Networking for Writers. I am exhausted but wanted to say a few things about the day in case anyone was at the event swings by the blog.
Check back here tomorrow afternoon when I’ll have a more detailed post up for you all with some of the details that you might have missed in the session.
You guys all rocked my world. The room was full of such great energy and I am happy to say that no matter how much techno babble I threw at you not a single head exploded. Whew!
Thanks for a great day!
It sure was great!
Thanks to you and Lynn for taking the time to prepare a great presentation for our SCBWI Meeting today in Walnut Creek. Some of us are now inspired to catch up to you technologically!!!
Have you explored the possibilities of Second Life yet, I wondered. I am just a beginner with this virtual reality world, but there are online libraries in it and one can “walk, run & fly” through books. I went through Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.
Two years ago I heard you speak at the Calif. Writer’s Club and bought Oliver’s Must-do List. I gave it to my niece’s daughters in person on a visit with them in Kansas City and got to read it to them…they loved it as much as I did!
I hope I get published someday! My first picture book effort is about Joey, a grasshopper in English/Spanish! I have been to the Jack London Writer’s Conference and the Sta. Barbara Writer’s Conference, and I had meetings with literary agents without any luck yet. Next stop the conference up north in Davis in May.
Thanks again, JoAnn T. Funk
Re: It sure was great!
JoAnn, Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m glad you enjoyed the presentation.
I appreciate you buying a copy of Oliver and sharing it with your family.
Keep attending conferences, keep learning, keep writing. That’s the path to publication. Good luck!
I bet you were amazing! Can’t wait to hear all about it. 🙂
Thanks. I feel like we rocked the room.
Great, great worksnop
Susan, proving to you that my ears were open yesterday–I’ve got an OpenID, posted a profile picture, researched CLN, and am on my way. Thanks to you and Lynn for giving me the (gentle) shove that I needed!

Patricia,
Woohoo! You go girl! How lovely to see you at the event.
Wish I’d been there!
Me too!
Beyond the workshop
Hi Susan,
Your website looks so nice that I was inspired by the workshop to improve the look of my own blog (and change layouts). I found some great tips here (http://www.downloadsquad.com/2008/03/24/8-steps-to-a-more-professional-blogspot-blog/) and now my label list doesn’t look my grandma’s grocery list any more. Yoohoo! I’ve got a sexy cloud of labels floating around and I did not even have to type in the code. Just copy and paste. You should make a class on how to make non-boring websites or blogs.
