Today is the last day to enter the contest to win a copy of IN A BLUE ROOM by Jim Averbeck.
It’s easy to win! All you have to do is post your best interview question for him right here in the comments. Jim will pick the best question and that person will win a free autographed copy.
Plus Jim will answer all the questions! Help me out here – let’s give Jim a fun interview.
More ways to win can be found here.
Oh! I almost forgot, thanks for the reminder. Here’s my question (and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I want a copy of this book):
Alice and her mom obviously have a bedtime ritual that works for Alice. In your own life, what are your own must-do rituals?
Great question! thanks.
You never get too old for picture books, and this one sounds like a real treasure! I may not win the contest, but I’m very happy that you’ve introduced me to Jim and BLUE ROOM.
Here’s my question:
Jim, which of your (picture book)writing tips would also be useful to those of us who are writing books for adult audiences?
Oh boy, that’s another good question. I’m loving these. Thank you.
How do you deal with self doubt, or your inner critic?
Man I hope he has a good answer for that one because I could sure use it about now. Thanks!
I tell mine to shut up and sit down, don’t speak until I speak to you…works most of the time. When it doesn’t work, it’s bad. I’ve got a cruel inner critic.
I’m glad you posted about this again!
Jim, what were you doing the moment you got the call that you had sold your book, and do you remember the first words out of your mouth?
Jim, I’m eager to check out your new picture book! Here’s my question:
What is your absolute favorite line from IN A BLUE ROOM and how long did it take to write/revise/tweak it?
~Della
Wanted to tell you…
Was speaking to my local indie (The Blue Marble in Ft. Thomas, KY) and BLUE ROOM is their pick for the Caldecott!!!
My question:
What is the best piece of writing advice someone ever gave you?
