I walked out back with the video camera going to take pictures of the yard and was surprised by a Cooper’s Hawk heading for the bird bath. I moved the camera really fast and while you couldn’t see him much on the video, when I extracted them frame by frame, he was there.
You can click over to Flickr to see the frame by frame shots. Not the highest quality of pics but since we’re in the middle of the city, this makes me happy.

Very nice! Love the fan tail 🙂
Never in a million years would I have caught that with the regular camera. 🙂 I’m having so much fun with the Flip video.
Very cool, though I’m not sure I want to know if the hawk was really headed for the bird bath or after what was in the bath.
Last fall, my husband was trying to get shots of a group of deer. After he got home, he realized he had wonderful photos of the bald eagles that were in the tree above the deer. He was pretty happy.
Oh I’m sure he is hunting around here but that’s the way it goes. I wish he’d get more of the rats next door. Ick.
How cool that your husband got those pictures of the eagles. Wow, what a neat surprise.
Awesome! We had one by our home in Sunnyvale. Love those raptors!
